Happy Retirement

Hello, one and all. I am glad to say, I am feeling much much better. I had some kind of bug for the past several weeks.

I spent the morning making a card, Mr. Inky requested. I am pleased with how it turned out and think the recipient will smile when he opens the envelope. What do you think?
This week-end we are going to the Sayner Stampede and I am so looking forward to it! It is about 4 hours northwest of us and the country is so beautiful. There is a used stamp sale, stamp classes and convention. I have several boxes of supplies packed up and hope things sell. I parted with things that I have not used for a couple of years. . .time to make room, for new items, IF I see any! hee-he Since, there is no real stamp store locally, I hope I will see new items and new ideas. The closest LSS (local stamp store) is 2 hours from here and I don't get there very often and now with the price of gas and everything else going up, well. . .times might be even fewer.

Thank you, for taking a look and I hope to be back again, real soon!

the Big Buck

Hello. . .Mr. Inky and I had a very nice week-end and got to visit with my sister and Inkette (great niece) both days!!! We did so much and couldn't believe how fast the time just flew by.

The last time AJ and I were together, I stamped this Buck and would you believe, I just found it this morning?!? Well, I did and that's because, I getting a few things together for tomorrow. AJ and I have a date to stamp and visit tomorrow, the Lord, willing.

As you can see, this card is very simplistic. It doesn't take a lot of time or a lot of supplies. I stamped the image with black ink, stamped it one white paper, layered it on black and then put it on a white card.

Then I added 3 black dots. I hope this gives you an idea or two and you can get some ink on your paper. I'm sorry, I don't know the name or the number of this image. I can't find it in the catalog. Here is her company address.

Fishing. . .

I hope you had a very nice Labor Day week-end. Mr. Inky and I did. On Friday afternoon, we helped a lady from our church move. She will be missed, but she needed to moved closer to her daughter. We stayed around the house. . .enjoyed the yard and fresh air. We played croquet, picked a few vegetables, enjoyed a fired, and did some things in the house.

Here is one card, I made, that I wanted to share. The stamp image is from AJ's Country Stampin' and is called "Gone Fishing" After coloring it, I framed it with a nestabilities cutout so it looks like a picture. I used a strip of glittery paper that I punched one side with a scalloped punch and then layered it on some water looking paper, layered on black and then applied to the card.

I hope you like it and maybe it will give you an idea of a card to make for someone. I am hoping to stamp a card or two that is Fall in nature, but the past few days have been back to summer weather! Hot and humid. . . The leaves are beginning to change and a few have dropped, so maybe I will get in the mood, for I really enjoy making fall cards. Fall is my favorite season!

Hugs and Prayers,

do you have a horse?

Do you have a horse? Do you go horse riding? I don't do either, but I like horses. Do you have any horse stamps? That, I do have so I thought I would make a card with one of the horse stamps I do have. On this card, both images are available from http://www.wood-n-paper-ink.com/ I uploaded this card on Amy's Blog, but thought I would also put it here, since it is my card.

Here is how I did it: I stamped the horse head on white cardstock and then I colored it in with a few copic markers. The colors I used were E02, E33, E35, R02, YR00, and 0 the colorless blender. I am new using these markers and the more I use them, the more I am liking them, though I don't have many. After getting the horse colored the way I wanted it, I used a circle scalloped nestabilites die and cut out the image and while the paper was still in the die, I used a duster with some blue ink and went around the image, thus leaving the edge white. I then used a circle nestabilities die and cut the black layer out. I stamped the horseshoe image out twice and cut them out. I colored them in with a silver glitter pen (though you can't see that very well in the scan). I layered the images on a light brown layer, which is 3 3/4 by 5 which I used the Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folder on. I really like how the card turned out and I hope you do to. I can think of many people who would enjoy getting a card like this? Can you?

I hope you and your family have a fun and safe Labor Day week-end and I also hope you take some time to do a little creating.

hugs and Prayers,

A scene with Stampscapes

I wanted to share this scenic card, I made awhile ago. I enjoy scenic stamping and hope to get my scenic stamps out sooner, rather than later. Oh to have time to use all my stamps, much more often! In this card, all stamps are by Stampscapes. It was a lot of fun and it took a little while, but it really isn't as hard to do as some think : ) Do you stamp scenic scenes? Would you make a card like this? Do you enjoy receiving scenic cards? No matter what card you are working on, I hope you are having FUN and putting no stress on yourself.

Shadow stamping

I wanted to share a card, well two cards I completed this morning. I'm not sure what you call the stamp, but I call it an irregular edge shadow stamp. I found it at a stamp convention several years ago. It is by Copper Leaf Creations. I stamped it a couple of times for you to see the edge. I really like the backgrounds that it makes. I take 3 or 4 different colors and begin with the lightest color and stamp randomly on my white cardstock. Depending on how large your paper, depends on how many times you want to stamp your first color. Leave plenty of white to show. Then go to the next darkest color and radmomly stamp it and go ahead and stamp over some of the first color. Continue on to the next color, until till you like what you have. Then I stamp the main image, in black. For these cards I used a stamp by Northwoods.

On this card, I decided to cut the image into 3 parts and then layered it on a brown cardstock, trimmed around the edges and then attached them on a light brown card.

On this card, I kept the image whole, layered it on black and then attached it to the card.
I really like this technique. . .it is quick and easy and makes a great looking card, I think. I hope this will help you get some ink on those fingers and have some relaxing moments.

May you have a peaceful day.

Thinking of You

Hello again, I thought I would share this card that I just completed putting together. I did the auto piece a few weeks ago. I think this card would be a nice one to send or give to a man, don't you?

The stamps used in this card are: the background is by Judi Kins #2206 J, the auto is by Stampers Anonymous #P5-1089, and the Thinking of You is by DeNami Design. I stamped the auto on a piece of glossy paper that I did the Polish Stone technique on. Every time I do the Polish Stone, I chuckle. A few years back, my friend Kathy and I decided we would learn how to do this technique. I don't think we ever had so much fun or laughed so hard. We were going to make a couple of backgrounds and then go to something else. We began right after lunch and I don't think we quit till supper time. We would do a background and then one of us would say OH, that is so ugly and the other would say, WAIT before you throw it out, stamp an image on it. Each and every time we would go, ahhhhh, that is so pretty.

Thank you, for taking a look and I hope you have some fun, today.
