I see I haven't gotten many recent comments. . .I know I haven't been posting very much and I do hope that improves. . .sometimes life gets in the way or sometimes, I simply forget. Any way, I hope more comments will be posted. I have been asked how do I post a comment, when I receive blog updates via e-mail? You can either point your mouse over the "What's buzzin with Inkyhive" and click on it and it will then take you to the page and you can see all the posts and under each entry you will see the word comment, just click on that word and it will let you make a comment. OR you can point your mouse over the day's topic. . .such as
stencil with black & crackling embossing paste and it will take you to that day. Then I believe a comment box comes up. Fill it in and if you do not have an account, that's okay, just click on anonymous when that box comes up. I hope this helps you and if there is a question, please let me know.
God Bless you,
Inkyhive

stencil with black & crackling embossing paste
Greetings, my friend. . .I want to share the image I have been working on. I enjoy using stencils with embossing paste. This is my first attempt with the crackling embossing paste and I think it turned out okay, even if I do say so, myself.
Thank you, for taking a look. If you have an comments or questions, please let me know and I will get back with you.
This first picture is the stencil using black matte embossing paste. When you have finished putting the paste on, with care remove the low tack tape that is holding the stencil in place, and put your stencil in a pan of water, so it can soak until you can wash it off.
I let the pasted image dry for about an hour. I'm sure it was dry before that, but I was doing other things in between.
I replaced the stencil, using low tack masking tape to hold it in place. Then I applied the crackling embossing paste,
removed the stencil and put it in a pan of water, before the paste dried on the stencil.
removed the stencil and put it in a pan of water, before the paste dried on the stencil. For some reason, all the crackling paste did not crackle. I let it dry for several hours.
Then once again, I put the clean stencil one and taped it down with low tack tape, and
then with my stencil brushes and stencil paint, I painted the design. After, I liked the coloring, I removed the stencil and cleaned it again.
then with my stencil brushes and stencil paint, I painted the design. After, I liked the coloring, I removed the stencil and cleaned it again. You might think it is a lot of work, but for me it really isn't and I like to use my stencils with paste. Like I said this was my first attempt using the crackling paste. Most of time I only do 2 stages. . .apply to paste, let it dry and clean my stencil, let the paste dry, and when I am ready, I apply the stencil again and color the image either with stencil paint or I use my stamp pads.
I then distressed the edges and used my stamp pad to color the edges.

I'm here. . .
Hello. . .I hope you have been enjoying the Fall, even with all the rain and wind we have had. The past several days, the rain has not fallen and we have had blue skies, sun, and some light breezes. I have raked a couple of times and it looks like I could do it again.
Here is a card, that I wanted to share with you. . .yes, I have been making cards, while I was MIA!!! With this card I used construction paper for the tree and the leaves. I punched out a number of leaves. Tore the paper, to make it look like a tree. I used my alphbet stamps and stamp F A L L on different colors and used a square punch. I glued all of that on blue cardstock, then layered that on brown and then attached that to the green card.
Today, I am working on a Thanksgiving Day card and will post that soon.
Hugs and Prayers.

Bookmark
One other thing to share, this bookmark, I made the other day. The scarecrow and verse are AJ's
I hope you all are having a nice Fall. The colors are beautiful and I hope they stay on the trees for a few more weeks. We have had some strong winds and many have fallen, yet there are still leaves that haven't changed color yet. Winter was trying to make an early entrance, but thankfully the past week or so we have gotten a little warmer. Isn't it funny how when we go from summer temps. to the 50's we think it's SO cold and then after a couple of weeks in the 40's, it then goes to the 50's and we think, oh it's so nice and warm out!!! Well, no matter what the weather today, I hope you have a nice day and you get some ink on those fingers or paper & if you can't stamp. . .well, think about what you will do, when you can stamp.

Sympathy Card
I thought I would share this card, that I needed to make. Over the week-end, we were notified, that the 18 year old grandson of childhood friends, of Mr. Inky, killed himself. Please, keep that family in your prayers. Thank you.
I stamped the tree in black and then embossed it with clear glitter embossing powder. So when you see it, in person, you can see the glitter. I took a piece of scrap paper and sponged on ink, for the ground. For the clouds, I used cloud template and sponged on the inks. I then stamped the saying and layered it and then applied to the card. Actually, you could use this card for any occasion, it just depends on what you put on the inside.
May you all have a beautiful day.

2 Christmas cards
Yesterday, I spent the entire day, in my stamping room! I worked on Christmas cards and sure enjoyed myself! Here are two of the cards I made.
I don't recall where I got the green paper, but I wish I had gotten more! The leaves and berries are raised and feel like velvet.
Here is the second card. First picture is the front of the card, For some reason the green scalloped edge doesn't show up well around the saying, but it is there.
This shows you the inside of the card. How do you do the insides of your cards? Seldom do I leave them blank, but will if it is an order and they don't want anything stamped. I stamp at least one saying and at times I like to stamp an image either with Versamark or very light/pale color. Sometimes I will add a bit of paper that I used on the front of the card, on the inside.
Have you begun your Christmas cards? How many will you make this year? How many are you sending out? I wish I wouldn't get tired tonight, for I would like to make more. I was able to get a couple more made today, but not as many as yesterday. Today, I had to do some household chores! I haven't decided how many cards I will send this year, so I don't know how many I will make. Guess, I should work on my list. . .
May you have a relaxing week-end and a few minutes to get some ink on a stamp or two!

Sunflower stamp-n-stencil
I know it's been a week, since I last posted. . .I don't know where all the time goes. AJ and I had a very nice visit last week. AJ made a couple of cards, I stamped images, and of course, we did lots and lots of talking. Before, we knew it, it was time for me to head home. We didn't even break for lunch!!! We are trying to plan our next get together, before we get snow that stays. It has snowed a couple of times, this past week! My it is early, but thankfully, it hasn't stayed and the roads haven't been too icy, though it was hard to open the car doors on Tuesday morning.
Here is a card, I made this afternoon. The sunflower is a stamp-n-stencil. If you haven't taken a look see, why don't you check it out. AJ has several and they are a lot of fun to use! I also, used a border punch, 2 different Cuttlebug embossing folders and 2 different sets of nestabilities. You don't have to have the ones I used. . .you can use different ones or none at all.
I hope this will give you some inspiration and you will take some time to play. For me, stamping and creating is great therapy.
