do you know a stamping victim?

With this country being hit so badly with tornadoes, flooding, and wild fires in recent weeks and months and so many people loosing their homes and contents. I have come in contact with a LARGE number of unmounted stamps and would like to help stampers begin to build up their stamps. If you know of any one, please leave me a comment or e-mail me and I will get back in touch with you. If you do e-mail me, please use "stamp donation" or "stamping victim" in the subject line.

Thank you and God Bless,

Side step card

Though this is a scan and not a photo, I think it shows, fairly well. You can see some of the glitter that I put on the hearts (heart circles nestabilities). The hugs was cut out twice using a Sizzix die and then I offset it. The top hug is out of cork.
I had fun doing this card and hoping the recipient, will enjoy getting it.

Thanks for dropping in and I hope all is well in your household. I know many places in the US has had their share of difficulties. . .flooding, tornadoes, forest fires.
hugs and Prayers,

Hello

Greetings. . . I know it has been nearly a month since, my last post, and I don't want to give any excuses. I have done lots of thinking I "ought" to post and then the day is gone. I have been stamping, in between trying to work in the yard, getting a flower garden made, and my vegetable gardens planted, in between the odd weather we have been having, and dealing with pain, that just is.

Here is a card, I made with a stamp by Amy. I know she is working on a blog to show her stamps, but for now, if you see any images that you like, e-mail her. As you can see I used an embossing folder, border punch, and a nestabilitie die.

I think this card could be sent to anyone and for most occasions. I haven't decided who, I will send this to, but I am thinking of making a few more.

Thank you, for taking a look and hoping you are getting some time, to make a card or two.
God Bless,
Inkyhive

Happy Birthday

Hello, here is a birthday card, I just completed. The scan is a bit light and can't figure out how to get it darker to show the coloring better. I stamped the bench and the grass, did the clouds. I colored and cut out the Tilda image (some one sent me a few images) and then I attached her to the bench. I punched out the flowerpot and then stamped the flowers.

I hope every one is doing well and nice Spring weather has come to your town.
Hugs and Prayers, to one and all. . .

Happy Retirement

Hello, one and all. I am glad to say, I am feeling much much better. I had some kind of bug for the past several weeks.

I spent the morning making a card, Mr. Inky requested. I am pleased with how it turned out and think the recipient will smile when he opens the envelope. What do you think?
This week-end we are going to the Sayner Stampede and I am so looking forward to it! It is about 4 hours northwest of us and the country is so beautiful. There is a used stamp sale, stamp classes and convention. I have several boxes of supplies packed up and hope things sell. I parted with things that I have not used for a couple of years. . .time to make room, for new items, IF I see any! hee-he Since, there is no real stamp store locally, I hope I will see new items and new ideas. The closest LSS (local stamp store) is 2 hours from here and I don't get there very often and now with the price of gas and everything else going up, well. . .times might be even fewer.

Thank you, for taking a look and I hope to be back again, real soon!

AJ's stamps

I thought it might be helpful, if I scanned the stamps AJ gave me to make cards a few weeks ago.
If you wanted any, you could order them all at the same time and save on postage or ask questions at the same time. Just e-mail AJ. I'm not sure why they don't show up in real size, unless they will, after I post this. . .

100% back. . .yippee

I am so happy, to say, that my computer is up and running and all is working great AND I found my software program CD's and did not have to buy a new printer! Yes, I am a very happy camper. Now, I need to play catch-up on the oodles of e-mails that I received in the last week and a half. Most likely, I will not got through all of them, just way to many, but I will do my best.

I hope you didn't get the blizzard (officially a snowstorm) that we did here in NE Wisconsin Tuesday afternoon through early Wednesday evening. I have no idea at how much snow we got, but I would guess at least 12 inches if not more! It was so wet and heavy, with strong blowing winds. It wouldn't have been too bad, except I had to drive into Green Bay Wednesday to pick up Mr. Inky at the airport, for his flight was to come in at 7:25 pm. Well, my neighbor cleaned out my drive way, so I could get out, but since I wasn't sure how long I would be able to get out, I decided to leave home at 2 pm. It normally takes 20 minutes to get to the outskirts of Green Bay and it took me 60 minutes plus! It was absolutely the worst and it was only by the grace of God that I made it to town and not getting caught in a rut and taken off the road. Hind sight is always better and I should have let Mr. Inky know I couldn't make it and for him to get a hotel room, when he got to the airport. Well, since I went in soooo early, I thought I would go shopping/looking. Half the stores I was going to go into, closed early, due to the weather! Oh My! I did find a couple of places, one was Michael's and I spent about an hour in there and did find a couple of things. I did stop and get something to eat and I went to the airport so I was there at 7 o'clock. Then the wait began, I can't tell you how many times the flight was changed by a few minutes and then a few minutes more and on and on. Finally by 10 o'clock the flight was in and the weather had changed 100% and the roads had really been cleaned, though still had to go slow, due to the ice build up. You see, we got freezing rain with the blowing snow. Say, have you ever heard of "Thunder snow"?!? I hadn't, but I have experienced it! We had thunder and lightening during the storm. . .in fact, I woke up Tuesday night to the light and noise and got up thinking it was pouring down rain. It wasn't, it was snowing. Any way, yesterday was a bright and beautiful day and it looks like today will too and the snow will hopefully soon be gone. It looks like it is the middle of winter again. And, to think last week-end, we had crocus blooming and daffodils and tulips coming up! Okay, guess, I shared enough on that!

Here is a no stamping birthday card. I hope the recipient likes it!
This is the front. . .The papers are ages old, from a stamp store that closed in 2003 and where under the heading of Red Hat Ladies. I bought the ladybug at Micheal's and the wording is a label sticker!

Here is the inside. . .
Thanks for taking a look. Have a great week-end and don't forget to take a few minutes to get ink on your fingers or paint or glue. . .just have fun.
Till next time,

I'm half back!!!

Wow, what a week it has been, without a computer. It is strange not having a computer to check my e-mail and reply to people. . .it is odd not having the Internet. Finally, my computer is back up and running correctly, after a week of not working and having to take it in and in again!!! And, thankfully, it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. Ed, who worked on my computer, has made me a very happy customer. I think he might have gone beyond what others would have done and for very reasonable rates -- extremely reasonable. I do have to get a new printer, as I don't have my installation CD and I am not able to download what I need from the Internet. Well, once again, I am taught a lesson! Keep all your program CD's and put them all in the same place. I will do some more searching this morning, but if I can't find it and since I had been having issues with my printer, I will most likely go printer shopping or looking this afternoon. That is IF I can get out of the driveway! We got hit with a snowstorm last night. We only got about 5 to 6 inches, however it is VERY wet and heavy and mixed with the snow, we received sleet or freezing rain. I don't think the temperature will be warm enough to melt it today, so I'll give my neighbor a call later and see if he will clear my drive, by late this afternoon, as I do need to get to Green Bay early this evening. Mr. Inky will be flying in and I will be at the airport!!! He had to go to St. Louis for a few days, related to work.

I have been making cards and hope to show you a couple of them sooner rather than later.

Hope all is well with you and you have been able to get some ink on your fingers.
Till next time!

Happy St. Pat's Day

I haven't posted, for the last several days, as I was having computer issues! Thankfully, that has been fixed! I wanted to show you of card that I made a couple of days ago.

This first picture is of the inside of the card.
This is the front of the card. Since this birthday is near St. Pat's day, I thought I would do it in that theme. And, too, I didn't get any St. Patrick's Day cards made this year! I had good intentions, but time got away from me. . .
Thanks for taking a look and I will upload other cards later today or tomorrow, as I made 8 cards yesterday. I guess, one can say, that is one good thing for not having a computer!!! I was a bit lost without being able to check my e-mails and to scan cards and, well you must know how it is, when you can use one of your toys that is part of your everyday life! right?!?
Till next time, have a great one!

Spring is coming right???

Hello. . .Yes Spring is really coming. Yesterday here is NE Wisconsin, we had a very very wet and heavy snowfall. We got about 5 inches and oh my was it heavy. I only shoveled enough to be able to get the van out at the end of the driveway. And, thankfully, the snow ended in plenty of time for our company to be able to come over for dinner. I fixed turkey, will some of the fixings!

Okay, onto the cards! For me, this card is really out of my comfort zone aka out of the box! I say this layout somewhere on the next and thought okay, I'll give it a try. I think it turned out okay. What do you think?

I'm trying to remember to do faux stitching sometimes and using embellishments I have, but seldom use. And, though I do layer, I haven't done this much before.

Here is another card, using the same layout AND as you might be able to tell I did the wax paper resist technique on the greenish paper. I first took the wax paper and ran in through my Big Shot in the argyle Cuttlebug embossing folder.

You can see, I used a small strip of the wax paper resist on the inside of the card, to kind of pull in together.

All the stamps/sayings are by AJ. If you like any of them and would like to buy them, just email AJ. At the moment she does not have a website.

Thank you, for looking and may you have a wonderful day.

couple more cards

Hey, can you believe, it's Monday and I'm posting again!!! Only two days have past since I have shared with you. I thought I would share two cards I made today, all the stamps are by AJ and if you would like any of them, please give her a shout.

I like this saying and OH how true it is. . .
I am also very partial to this tree, too. . .

As AJ was sharing with my when she heard this saying, I thought wow, this is so appropriate for any time and any one. I stamped the saying on some Basic Gray paper, I bought years ago and of course, can't find it anymore. Maybe it isn't make any longer, as I know Basic Gray has so many others. I then layered it on some brown paper and then I layered it on a piece of background paper, I'd had again for a l-o-n-g time and in one of my many piles. It's a little thicker than tissue paper and has thread like pieces of different colors and then I put that on the card front. At the bottom, I use some buttons I have and in real life you can see the buttons pick up some of the colors in the background paper.
I was able to make another one of this one since I really like it and want to send it to someone, yet had to have one for AJ.
Guess, that's it for today, but I do want to thank each of you who have left a comment. Hope you had a great week-end and may the week ahead be full of blessings.
Till next time,

AJ's stamps

Happy Saturday. . .have you done any stamping? Gotten any ink on those fingers?!?!? Thought I would show you the card, I have made today. Both stamps are by AJ. If you would like to purchase stamps from her, just let her know.
I'd like to do some more stamping or playing, but then I wonder if I shouldn't do some more straightening up. I looked around this morning and said. Oooohhh, why does it seem when I begin to make some progress and then move a piece of furniture, I think I've gone 10 steps backwards?!? Oh well, it will get down one of these days, right????

Happy Week-end,

a Get Well Card

Hello friends. . .here is a card, I recently put together. I had all the pieces, you know in one of my many piles and since I was sorting and organizing my piles. . .I knew what I wanted to do, when I heard someone was in the need of a get-well card. This is going to an 80 some year old gentlemen. He goes to my church, but also is the Uncle of a friend on mine. I'm not sure if you can tell, but I added a piece of real tissue to the box and not just leave the tissue space white! The image, I got s-o-m-e time ago and I made quilt look like paper!
Yesterday, AJ and I got together and we had a very good time! Of course, we did lots of talking and we are slowly getting better at getting a little more accomplished, but I did not get a card done. I did come home with several stamps that are new, by AJ and will be getting a few cards done this coming week. When I get them done, I'll post them here and give them to AJ. She needs some new cards, for the convention she will be going to in May. I hope I will help her sales!

We had rain this morning and the roads were slush and ice covered. Thankfully, only had to drive a couple of miles to take Mr. Inky to work. The salt trucks have been out, so that is very good.

May you all have a wonderful week-end and some time to get a little ink on those fingers!
Till the next time.

a new cabinet

On Saturday, Mr. Inky and I had to go to town and we came across this cart AND it was on sale. As I looked at it, I had a light bulb moment. . .perfect for border punches! When we got home, hubby put it together, almost as soon as we walked in the house. This is only a picture that was on the box. I do not have a basket of flowers on my. I have spent a few hours re-arranging and organizing AND one of these days, I will be finished, but for me, it is really good to be going through everything and I mean everything and every drawer! Tomorrow, I will do a little more and I would like to get a couple of cards made
and I need to get a few things together as on Thursday, AJ and I are having a get together. I have things planned to do and hope to get at least a few things accomplished. We'll see what all we get done, other than talking. But, hey, talking is okay, too!

May you have a great tomorrow!

not again. . .

well, it's me again and I didn't mean to have such a break since the last time, I posted. I haven't finished organizing/cleaning my stamp room, but I am happy with all that I have accomplished! I haven't worked in here every day, as life happens, I have errands to run and chores around the house. This morning, I was busy with paying bills, doing laundry, and a few other things. So, now I am going to sit at my stamping table and hope to put a card or two together. If however the cleaning bug hits, I will do more picking up in here. I still have plenty to do and I want to get it done; ALL DONE!

I did want to show you a NE {never-ending} card, I made recently. I really like this type of card and have so much enjoyment creating them. It does take a little more time than a card with just the front to design.
here is the front:

here is the 2nd page or first fold. . .not sure how you name the pages.

here is the 3rd page

and, lastly this is the back of the card. This card is loaded with bears as I made it for a gal in my stamping bear group. I think she will like it, don't you???
Thank you, for taking a look and I really like it, if you'd leave a comment or two!
Till next time,

a Birthday card

Hi, I'm still cleaning my room and I am making progress. The funny thing is, I was so happy with the progress I had made on my desk and cutting table AND then I turned around and saw the rest of my room. . .well, it is coming along, yet I still have lots to do. Sort of like life, isn't it.
One day at a time and keep moving forward!

Anyway, I wanted to share with you, the birthday card, I made last week. I ran the birthday paper through my Big Shot using the hearts Cuttlebug embossing folder and I used stickles over the bubble hearts. I hope the recipient liked it.
Okay, back to cleaning and hopefully, I will have another card to show you later today or tomorrow.

til the next time. . .

is your desk clean???

I am in the process of cleaning up my stamp room and I am happy to say, I am making progress!!! I still have work to do, but it feels so good to be able to see my desk and actually have more than an 8 1/2 by 11 area to work on. The piles on my desk are gone. Now to keep working on the other piles, you know the ones! Laying on the floor, laying on the cutting tables, well you get the point. As I am cleaning, I am sorting, and have another box to take to the "Used Stamp Sale" the first week-end in May. I did well last year and hope to do well this year. What ever doesn't get sold, I will donate. Also, as I clean, I see things that I haven't seen in a very long time or simply forgot I had and now have lots of ideas for cards.

AJ and I got together yesterday and we had a very good time. Though I didn't get any stamping or cards made, I did lots of cutting with a nestabilitie die that AJ has and I don't. I also showed AJ how to make the NE (never ending) card and put several together for myself. I'm hooked on that type of card.

Okay, back to cleaning. . .how is your stamping area? Clean, messy, room to stamp? Won't you leave a comment and let me know.

Till the next time.
hugs and Prayers,

Happy Valentine's Day

Greetings and Happy Valentine's Day to you:
I am so sorry, it has been several weeks since I blogged last. I have been thinking of you and I have been stamping, along with a lot of LIFE.

The past few days, I have been cleaning my stamp room. Boy oh boy, did it need it AND thankfully, I can see where progress has been made, though there is lots more to do. I am happy to say, that I have gotten back in the habit of cleaning my stamps after using and putting them away!!! Now, if I only keep doing that. It is my goal to and it is my goal that once I get things put away, I keep my room somewhat organized and not have SO MANY piles.

Here is my card that I made for Mr. Inky. I had lots of fun making it, once I got an idea. I made about 20 Valentine cards this year and sent out, but I wanted something different and a bit more special, for my inkybear!

Tomorrow, AJ and I are to get together for a stamp day and we are both looking forward to it. We had planned on last Thursday, but when I took the van in for an oil change last Wednesday, if was found that the intake manifold was leaking antifreeze. The mechanic said I could drive the 120 plus miles and bring it in later, but I said to Mr. Inky, I rather postpone the trip and get the vehicle fixed, before any damage was done. Good thing, we took it in, as it was worse than the mechanic thought, and thankfully no damage had occurred! And more good news, it only cost $660. instead of the estimate of $800.

Well, I should close for today and thank you, for taking a look.
'til the next time, hugs and Prayers,
Inkyhive

This is a test to see if this goes out. I hope you all have a very nice week-end!

Till next time.

Where does the time go???

Isn't it hard to believe that we are already coming near to the end of January? Where does the time go??? I have once again, been shown how fragile and precious life is. A friend of Mr. Inky and mine found out she had colon cancer last October. When we visited her before Christmas, she didn't look that ill and to everyone pleasant surprise, she came to Christmas day service. She had to use a wheel-chair, for she couldn't walk very far, but still she looked good. On the 12th we visited her, in the hospital, as her last treatment was too much and made her very ill. It was good to see her and she was glad for all the company that had come that day. We promised we would be back to see her, but that time never came. In a week's time, the Lord brought her home. We left behind will miss her and for ourselves we are sad, yet glad that she is in Heaven with Jesus. I guess, I share all this to say, don't let time go by. . .let your family, friends, and even neighbors that you love them, that you care. Stay in touch, by a note, by a phone call, by a visit. None of us can make up time and once one is gone, it's too late.

I have been stamping and making cards and I need to get some addressed and out in the mail.

This first card is one I made for one of the stamping groups I am in. The COTM (card of the month) theme was snow with a bear image. Since, I don't have any stamps with snow and a bear, I used several stamps.

I stamped Tilda, masked her, then stamped the snowballs and stippled the sky and stamped the verse. The bear was stamped, colored, cut-out and then layered on. I used stickles on the snowballs, but in the scan you can't see the sparkle. I had fun making this card and the lady who received it liked it!

For the next card, I used the image I got from the "Goodie Bag" swap, I was in this month. For this one, I laid a piece of copy paper over the image and traced around it. Then I cut the traced image out, laid it on the image, and then stamped that trees. I used stickles on the dots to enhance the snow falling, but the scan doesn't show that.

This is the last card, I'll show you today. All but the pink paper, I received in the "Goodie Bag" swap. I think this image could be for Valentine's Day, yet I think one could use it for birthday's and/or thinking of you.
'til next time.
hugs and Prayers,
Inkyhive

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! Can you believe it is 2011, already. I have no idea where 2010 went to, but it sure flew by. I can't tell you how many people I have heard that from and it doesn't matter how old or young the person is. . .time just seems to be flying by.

Here is a card I made and wanted to share with you. The scan doesn't show the sky and I tried so hard to get it to show up. Just so you know, it isn't just a white background. I sponged blue on for the sky and it has some clouds.
May you have a wonderful day and a great 2011. . .
until the next time,
