Do you like M & M's???

Do you like M&M's? Who doesn't right?!?! Which is your favorite. . .plain or peanut??? :D My favorite are the plain ones! Some time ago, I found the Survival stamp and yesterday I decided to make a card for my nephew's care package. I have a package of both, plain and peanut's in there and will put the card on top so he will read it first. Well, maybe, he will read the card first or maybe he will go for the goodies and then check the card out :D
To make the m&m's, I used a small circle stamp and then a small 'm' stamp. I thought I would bring the theme to the inside of the card, so I put some on the inside, too!
I plan to get his care package mailed on Monday. It won't make it for his birthday, but he has one on the way from, his Mom. We wanted to help spread out the celebration!
May you all have a beautiful day. Share a smile, for you may be the world for that person. God Bless you and yours.

another card for Kate

Here is another card I made today and this will be going out to Kate tomorrow. As you can see, I used the cheerleader stamp again. I hope this brings a little smile to her face and I want her and the family to know, I am praying for them and I am on their cheering squad!

I used the Argyle cuttlebug embossing folder and then I use 2 different color ink pads doing the DTP technique [direct to paper]

I have decided to use the other cheerleader card I shared with you last week, for my nephew's birthday. Since, I used red, white, and blue to color her in, I thought it would be a patriotic card. Thank you, for praying for him and the other soldiers, who are serving our country and helping others.

God Bless, ~~Inkyhive

The mailbox

I was going to post this card the other day and of course, time got away from me. This image is from AJ's Country Stampin. After coloring it, I used a scallop punch on the right side and layered it on silver paper that was also punch with my scallop punch. I put that layer on color core paper; after I ran the paper through my Sizzix, with a CuttleBug embossing folder. After the paper was embossed, I took some fine grit sandpaper, to get the look of the leaves, to stand out a bit more. I layered it on gray paper and then on a shimmery yellow/orange cardstock.

I hope this will give you a lift to create something today. ~~Inkyhive

comments

I had been wondering why I hadn't been getting a comment or two and I have had a couple people ask me how do I comment. If you receive the posts/updates via e-mail and I do hope I am getting more and more readers :D, you must go to the blog's webpage. To do that, all you have to do is click on either "What's buzzin with Inkyhive" or the name of the post, at the top of each mailing. The first one directs you to the blog and the second one [name of the post] directs you to that post. Then, at the end of each post, you will see the word comment; click on it and you can post a message to Inkyhive :D
I still would like your input on what you think the cheerleader card could be used for.

If you have any problem let me know and I will see what I can do, though I must tell you, I am not real computer savvy!

Hello

Hello. . .I was going to post this last evening, however I got busy and time got away from me.
All 3 stamps used on the front of this card are from AJ's Country Stampin's. I have had the flower and hello stamp for quite some time and the watering can image, I stamped in May, while I visited Amy. Hopefully, in the next month we will get together, but lately our calendar's just don't connect! :D

This time I didn't follow a sketch, I laid the cream card stock on a strip of brown card stock which had been sitting on the yellow and I thought it went together. I stamped the flower using a yellow ink on the yellow paper and then the hello is stamped with brown ink. I had used a lace punch on the brown paper, but I didn't like the look, so I'll use that paper another time. I seldom throw away anything, though I really do need to go through some of my piles and discard some. I mean how much can one really use??? It's one thing IF you use it up. . .however I have 'several' boxes of pieces of paper and stamped images from at least 7 years ago and I keep saying I need to use it up, I have more than enough odds and ends! I do believe I have come to the conclusion it isn't going to get done, so perhaps I should look for someone or ones to share it with.

Looks like it is a nice day, so I think I will go outside, at least for a few minutes and enjoy the beauty, the Lord has brought my way, today.

May you have a wonderful Saturday.

a card for Kate

I wanted to share a card, I made this morning, for a precious 5 year old girl. Her name is Kate McRae and I read about her about a week ago. I have been praying for her and her family ever since. Here is a link to read about Kate and please put her and her family on your prayer list.

I will be back later, when I get another card or two to post. I wanted to thank everyone who has written me, wishing my Birthday wishes.

Do you recycle? : D

Do you save things, to use some day on your creation??? Do you use them or do they stay in the drawer or in a pile? : )
Today's card, I am sending to my nephew who is serving our country. The bear is from an envelope, that I received recently. After, cutting it out, I layered it on blue, then white, and finally red paper. I then put it on white cardstock and stamped the "Thinking of You". That stamp is by Sweet Impressions and I really like the font. It is my favorite thinking of you stamp, because of the font.

As some of you know, my birthday was yesterday and Mr. Inky and I went to the Milwaukee Zoo. We had a nice day and the Lord provided nice weather. It wasn't too hot and while the Zoo was open there was no rain, no thunderstorms. Driving down, we had some heavy rain for a little over an hour. At times we had to really slow down. Since we weren't sure what the day was going to bring we had back-up plans, but once we got to the Zoo, the rain stopped so we decided to stay. Another time we will go to The Domes. They are 3 buildings shape like beehives and they house plants. One is arid, one is rainforest, and the other one changes, depending on the season. It was nice to be in Milwaukee for fun and not at the hospital because of my knee :D

May you have a wonderful evening.
hugs and Prayers,

Happy Monday

I hope you are having a pleasant Monday and that you had a nice, relaxing week-end. Did you get a chance to stamp? Even if only for a few minutes. . .you know if you work a few minutes a day, you will get a card made and the receiver will be happy to get it. Here is a card, I worked on. The first picture is the front of the card. I used the Leafy Branch embossing folder by Cuttlebug. After, I embossed it, I took a fine grade sandpaper and rubbed over the leaves, giving it the look it has. I then took a scalloped circle and a plain circle, both by Nestabilities and made the scalloped ring. When I decided where I wanted to place it, I used the plain circle nestabilities and punched out that circle. I used the same plain circle and cut through the card, so that the inside would show through.

As you can see I didn't complete it yesterday. I'm not sure what saying I will add it to. I bought the stamp at a rummage sale a few weeks back and it came by itself. I haven't decided who I am sending the card to, thus I haven't decided what I want it to say! Could be a birthday card, could be an encouragement card, could be for a soldier. . . if you have any ideas, please leave me a comment.

God Bless

a few cards to share

Good Morning. . .first I want to apologize, I read a couple of my recent posts and have noticed I typed the wrong word. Isn't it funny [well not really], how we proof-read what we write and we don't see it, but later we go back and read it and it pops out! The other day when I shared about doing a color challenge, I wrote rick-rack several times. . .it didn't dawn on me, until I was showing the card to Mr. Inky last evening and then I remembered, I wrote the wrong word. The challenge wasn't using rick-rack, the challenge called for gingham - oh brother. . .
I am hoping to get a card or two made today, but what I really should do, is get a few cards ready to mail out! Everyone likes to receive fun mail, right?! It is nice to hear from the receipent that they enjoyed getting the card and to know someone is thinking about them.

Anyway, here are a couple of cards that I have made this week. Perhaps, one will bring a smile to your face and maybe give you an idea for a card to make. The first card is following yesterday's sketch challeng post.
And, the second card is done with the technique called Chalk Lines. Very fun and very easy. Here is the link where I found it. http://dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com/dawns_stampin_studio/2008/05/chalk-lines-wit.html I enjoy watching Dawn's video's. I have been know to sit at the computer and watch her for a good hour! : )

sketch challenge

This challenge is on The Sweet Stop. Here is the link: http://sweetstopsketches.blogspot.com/2009/07/sweet-stop-sketch-saturday-sss12.html

Here is one of the cards I made. I decided to use this stamp, as I had been working in the yard. This stamp is by AJ's Country Stampin's

I used chalks to color and then sealed it with hair spray. I'm sorry the sky doesn't show up well. It is more vivid in real life.

Here is a card I made several years ago, long before I saw this sketch : ) This is also the first card I ever submitted to a magazine AND the first card of mine that was published! It was in VSN (Vamp Stamp News). I'm sorry, I can't recall the issue, at the moment.
The bandaide is by CowTown Stamps http://www.cowtownstamps.com/
and the cute bear is by Morning Star http://www.morningstarstamps.com/

Well, it is time for me, to see what I am going to do today. I hope you are enjoying the summer and you are getting some time to stamp.

God Bless,

a challenge

I know, I know, it's been several days since I my last post. I didn't forget the blog or you. I have been working in the yard a few minutes at a time; several times a day. As some of you know, I had a knee replacement Dec. 2004 and a revision 18 months later in July 2006. Anyway, because of that, I also have problems with my back and pain in both places. I'm not complaining, for I am just pleased to be able to walk and to drive. For 2 years Aug. '04 to Oct. '06 I couldn't do either. That was a true learning experience. Anyway, I have been working on a flower garden. Well, actually a couple of them. I can only work for so long and then I have to rest. . .sometimes the pain gets the better of me. Thankfully, most of the time, the pain doesn't get too me, too badly. I have also, been doing my daily things around the house and I have been stamping!!! For me, stamping is not only fun, but great therapy!!!

The first card I want to share with you, is from a challenge I saw on Denise's blog. Denise posted a challenge to use orange and brown along with some rick rack on your card. The rick rack could be ribbon, a brad, a stamp. It took me a couple of hours to come up with my design, but once it hit, it came together quickly! The bear is from a gift tag that I had gotten some years ago. I tend to save lots and like to recycle when I can. The rick rack tab is from a Stamping Up Stamp and then I punched it out with a tab punch. I used my Score-It to make the lines and then took some brown ink to go over the embossed lines. After that I punched the holes to complete the look of notebook paper.

Thank you, for letting me share what I came up with.

hugs,

email service

I hope this doesn't inconvenience any one. I have switched email delivery service and I hope you will sign up again. This hopefully, is the last time. FeedBlitz informed me that in a few days, I will be charged for using their service. I have now signed up with FeedBurner.

I hope you all have a fun, relaxing, and safe Independence Day. We stayed around home and got a lot accomplished! I am sorry, I didn't do any stamping and I know my stamps and ink are calling out. "Have you forgotten us?!?"

Today, I hope to get a card or two made, but till then I will share with you a card I made some time ago.
