Sketch Challenge

I thought today, I would share a couple of cards I made following the Sketch above which is from the Sweet Stop. If you would like to go there, here is the address:

I want to get another card off to my nephew, so maybe one of these will be sent to him.
I would like to get a couple more cards made today, but right now I probably should go out in the yard and see if I can get a few more weeds pulled or some flowers planted.
I hope that you get some stamping time in today.

I am not. . .

Greeting friends, I know it's been several days since I posted anything. Forgive me, time got away from me. Today, I wanted to share a card, I made and sent to a friend. She should be getting it any day now.
I have been trying to find the saying stamp, but of course, I have laid it down and I can't find it. The boat is from Stampscapes and the dune is from Seaside Stampin, stamped several times. The background was done with re-inkers and alcohol and instead of pouncing up and down as one does for the polish stone, you streaked the cotton ball across your glossy paper. It is a lot of fun and I learned this technique by Kathy, owner of Seaside Stampin, while at a convention.
I hope you all are enjoying your summer and you have been getting some stamping time.

Wow, another post. . . I wanted to show you the card I made for my step-dgt. She should get it on Thursday. A week ago, she fell off the moped she was driving and broke her foot. I hope this will bring a smile to her face and a moment of forgetting her foot.

This is my take from a sketch challenge that I saw here on the day of June 6, 2009

Daffodil Stencil

Good Morning, I wanted to share a card, I had made for a friend who was going through a challenging time. I used a Dreamweaver stencil and embossing paste. If you haven't use the paste before, you might want to give it a try. It is fun and easy, though you must put your stencil in water after applying the paste. It is much easier to clean the stencil that way : ) After, the paste is dry, I laid the clean stencil back down and used my chalks to color. Remove and clean the chalk off the stencil. I then used hair spray to seal the chalk so it wouldn't rub off. I added a bow and stamped the word 'hope'.
I hope you are having a nice week.

Sit down, relax,

Oh, my did it get Hot here today. It reached 83 degrees and what a change, a drastic change, from what it has been. We have been 20 degrees below the normal temperatures for this time of year. We even had 'heavy' frost just a few weeks back. The plants have begun to grow, but they are having a difficult time, as they need water.

I did want to show you a card, I was able to make, in between all the busyness of life the past day and a half! Just busy, nothing serious and nothing wrong : )

Both the tree and the saying is by AJ's Country Stampin The rest of the verse is stamped on the inside and it says, Put your heels up, and have an Awesome day! The tree is stamped on a silver glossy type paper and I embossed it. I colored in the bark with a marker. I then took a sponge and put the different colors on the paper. After, it dried, I trimmed my paper and layered it on black to have it stand out, just a little.
I hope you had a pleasant Saturday.

Thinking of You

Hello again, I thought I would share this card that I just completed putting together. I did the auto piece a few weeks ago. I think this card would be a nice one to send or give to a man, don't you?

The stamps used in this card are: the background is by Judi Kins #2206 J, the auto is by Stampers Anonymous #P5-1089, and the Thinking of You is by DeNami Design. I stamped the auto on a piece of glossy paper that I did the Polish Stone technique on. Every time I do the Polish Stone, I chuckle. A few years back, my friend Kathy and I decided we would learn how to do this technique. I don't think we ever had so much fun or laughed so hard. We were going to make a couple of backgrounds and then go to something else. We began right after lunch and I don't think we quit till supper time. We would do a background and then one of us would say OH, that is so ugly and the other would say, WAIT before you throw it out, stamp an image on it. Each and every time we would go, ahhhhh, that is so pretty.

Thank you, for taking a look and I hope you have some fun, today.

Gone Fishing

Well, I hear updates are indeed going through, yippee :-)

Here is a card, I did yesterday afternoon. As I look at the ever changing sky, I see that God is always making and showing us, different looks and different colors. Though I will never be able to do justice, here is my attempt. With this card, I stamped and embossed the boat image on watercolor paper. I used my Lyra Aquacolor crayons and a waterbrush. After it dried, I then stamped the cattails. I have a ways to go with this technique and wonder if I really should upload it, but here goes! Practice makes perfect, right?!? sure. . .
Both stamps are from AJ's Country Stampin's

Today, we might get rain. The garden sure could use it. I had to water a few plants yesterday as they were beginning to topple over. :- ( Once they got some water, the stood right back up.

Until we meet again, I pray you have a wonderful day.

receiving updates??? testing. . .

I don't know if you received an update overnight, but I didn't, so I went into FeedBlitz and it all looks okay. . .so I am hoping this post will go out and if not I will have to get some HELP :-)

I want to give my blog address out to more people, however until I know announcements are being sent, I don't see the point. :- (

I've been cleaning this morning and unpacking a few boxes that had stamping goodies in them. Oh, no more stuff!!! hee hee As some of you know we moved into this house a year and half ago and there are still boxes to be unpacked. At this point, I suppose I should give them away, but that would be the time, I remember I am really missing something. I will share a card with you a bit later today.

I hope you are having a pleasant day.

Color Challenge

Hello friends, I hope this finds you having a fine day and taking good care of yourself.
I decided to challenge myself and make a card with browns, greens, and white, with as many shades as I wanted. The stamp is by Northwoods, which a friend stamped for me and the punch is by Martha Stewart.

I have heard that some of you are having trouble signing up through FeedBlitz. Please try again, as I have uploaded it again. If it doesn't go through, please try again at a later time. I hope this situation gets ironed out quickly.

I hope to get a few more cards made today, but first I need to go out to the garden and plant a few more plants. All the seeds we planted have come up, so we may get a few vegetables this fall.

A few cards to share

I did these cards awhile ago, but thought I would share a few with you.

Still Learning

I have been trying to learn more about setting up a blog. It isn't real hard, but it is challenging enough for me! LOL I must thank Denise who has been answering questions for me. I hope that soon, I will feel more comfortable blogging and I will be posting on a more regular basis.

For today, I would like to share this card with you.

I sent this card to my good friend. . .today is her last day and then she is on vacation! Since, she lives in Virginia, we won't be visiting face to face, but we will be on the phone more. It is fun to spend time on the phone, talking about stamping and how do you do this or that. Both of these stamps are from AJ's Country Stampin's, who by the way is another friend and we do get to visit once in awhile as Amy only lives a little over an hour away. If you don't see the stamps, just drop Amy an e-mail and tell her what you are looking for and she will happy to help you.

I hope you are having a pleasant week and the weather isn't TOO cold or wet. lol We had 2.5 inches of rain from Saturday through Monday. Today we are still below normal temps, but it is dry and the sun is shining between the clouds.

I have figured out how to upload a picture, so here is the card for today. I thought it was fitting. . .since I am just beginning this journey. The image is stamped on the inside of the card, as this is a window card. The stamp is by The Merry Stamper. I colored in the flowers with 'Sharpie Markers'. The bear paw paper is from Hobby Lobby.

Blogging

Well, I finally decided to try my hand with blogging. I have several friends who have encouragement me for some time, so I am going to give it a try.

I have been stamping for 11 years and like many stampers, I was invited to a stamping party. I went to a DOTS (now Close To My Heart) party, that my friend was hosting. Once, I saw the embossing powder melt, I was hooked and as they say, the rest is history. I bought several stamps that evening and a few weeks later, I hosted a party and bought $300. of stamps and supplies! Yes, I was "hooked" and found it very relaxing and I still do. I don't know how many stamps I own today, but I own a few. . .I would guess about 2,000. 99.5% of them are mounted. I know, I know, I would have more room IF I had UM (unmounted stamps), but I really do prefer them mounted. I do occasionally by UM, but as soon as I get home, I mount them!

I could write more, but since it is supper time. As soon as I figure out how to attach a card, I will show you a card or two that I have made.

May you all have a Blessed evening. ~~Inkyhive
