Spring is coming right???

Hello. . .Yes Spring is really coming. Yesterday here is NE Wisconsin, we had a very very wet and heavy snowfall. We got about 5 inches and oh my was it heavy. I only shoveled enough to be able to get the van out at the end of the driveway. And, thankfully, the snow ended in plenty of time for our company to be able to come over for dinner. I fixed turkey, will some of the fixings!

Okay, onto the cards! For me, this card is really out of my comfort zone aka out of the box! I say this layout somewhere on the next and thought okay, I'll give it a try. I think it turned out okay. What do you think?

I'm trying to remember to do faux stitching sometimes and using embellishments I have, but seldom use. And, though I do layer, I haven't done this much before.

Here is another card, using the same layout AND as you might be able to tell I did the wax paper resist technique on the greenish paper. I first took the wax paper and ran in through my Big Shot in the argyle Cuttlebug embossing folder.

You can see, I used a small strip of the wax paper resist on the inside of the card, to kind of pull in together.

All the stamps/sayings are by AJ. If you like any of them and would like to buy them, just email AJ. At the moment she does not have a website.

Thank you, for looking and may you have a wonderful day.

  1. These cards are WONDERFUL! On the first one, your faux stitching ROCKS...I thought it was real stitching! I LOVE the layers you used! On the second one, I love the colors as well as the wax paper resist strips! GREAT work!

  2. Inky, when I first looked at the first card I thought you had a big tree on the front--the scalloped circle looked like the leafy part and the blossom below it resembled the trunk. I really, really like it! Love the wax resist on the second card and the way the mat is cut. You may have been out of your comfort zone, but the cards are so beautiful you'd never know!

  3. Thank you, Ladies, for looking and leaving a comment. I did have fun making these cards and I may in the days ahead do more "out of the box" for me cards.
